General Information

Vectum organises extra tutorials for mathematical subjects in the first and second year of the Bachelor, more specifically: Linear Algebra, Analysis I, Probability Theory, Analysis II, Game Theory, Mathematical Statistics, and Operations Research. With the help of higher-year tutors, we provide assistance to these subjects, so that they become more accessible and improve your understanding of the subject matter, which proves to be beneficial for later stages in your academic career. Ultimately, the goal of those tutorials is to prepare you as best as we can for your exams!


Student Information

Every period, Vectum organises extra tutorials for mathematical subjects in the first and second year of the Bachelors's. If you feel like you're having trouble understanding these courses, or you want some more explanation on the topics, then it might be wise to make use of the extra tutorials.

The tutorials are given by students who have mastered those courses and who have proven to be good teachers. They will take place once a week, and each tutorial lasts 2h. The tutorial groups will be made as small as possible to ensure the tutors will really be able to help you. 

For Period 4, Extra tutorials for the second-year courses; Mathematical Statistics and Operations Research start in Week 3, you will have 5 tutorials in total (week 3 to week 7) for €75 per course. Extra tutorials for the first-year courses; Probability Theory & Analysis II start in Week 4, you will have 4 tutorials in total (week 4 to week 7) for €60 per course. You will also receive a perfectly curated course manual, practice exams, and tips and tricks from your tutor to help you through the preparation process. 

Please note that these tutorials are provided at zero profit; the money is strictly used to pay the tutors. In case Vectum makes a profit on these tutorials, the profit will be redistributed back to you.

The deadline to signup for extra tutorials for Period 5 is 3rd May, 23:59.


Tutor information

As a tutor, you would be guiding groups of 4-5 students through the academic process of a quantitative course. Each group of students would follow a 2h tutorial per week, usually starting from week 4 to week 7. You can choose how many tutorials per week you would be willing to give. The hourly rate for the tutorials is €25 with the possibility of a bonus. In the sign-up sheet, you can indicate whether and for which course(s) you would be willing to potentially update the booklet used for training. In the rare event that a booklet needs to be updated, the work put into that will be discussed separately and paid additionally based on the hours spent on the job.

Generally speaking, for you to become an extra-tutor for a certain subject, we require you to have a final grade of 8 or higher for the said subject, although exceptions can be made, depending on your grades for related courses.
