Joshua Smilde

Hello everyone, I’m Joshua Smilde and I’m honored to take on the responsibility of External Affairs Coordinator of Vectum’s 29th board. I will be starting a MSc of Econometrics & Operations in the upcoming academic year, after obtaining the bachelor’s degree here in Maastricht. Having experienced the beauty of Vectum for three years now, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to its continuing prosperity.

As External Affairs Coordinator, I will be responsible for managing Vectum’s sponsor portfolio and organizing career events. Vectum’s sponsor portfolio consists of varying companies that are looking to hire econometricians. Through career events like case days or in-house days, Vectum offers its sponsors exposure to its members, the next generation of econometricians. This is, of course, great for companies, but the career events are also a great way for Vectum members to get to know the different types of companies that hire econometricians. I aim to make sure that Vectum’s sponsor portfolio consists of a diverse set of companies. This will let our members get a more complete view of the job market during their studies, allowing them to make an informed decision about their careers after they graduate.
